Description
Doe a Deer Café au Lait from Swavelle is a jacquard woven drapery and upholstery striped fabric. This large and subtle stripe design is inspired by a deer's coat with random abstract dots. The stripe is made by a six and three quarters stripe of Light Sand and Cream followed by a six and three quarters stripe of Dove Grey and Cream. The overall repeat of this pattern measures 13.75 horizontal and 27.20 inches vertical. This has a silky luster and is woven substantial enough to be rated heavy duty in abrasion testing. In addition to drapery, curtain, and upholstery fabric, this can be used as well for throw pillow fabric, cornice board fabric, top of the bed applications and as headboard fabric. Deer me!

Railroaded fabrics are simply fabrics that have designs turned "sideways" on the roll. The process was developed to aid furniture manufacturers wishing to cut and sew covers on furniture without seams. Since most fabrics woven are approximately 54" wide, any furniture piece wider than 54" would require seaming two pieces of fabric together. Railroading solves this dilemma, now a cushion piece can be covered without seams no matter what the width. Railroaded fabric is very desirable by designers since they can be more creative. When using a railroaded product for drapery, be aware of the panel size in relation to the design.
