Sta-Kleen Polycarbonate (PC) is a polyurethane coated upholstery fabric (similar to PU leather) made from a 100% polycarbonate resin system. The polycarbonate resins provide for an incredibly strong and durable product. Sta-Kleen PC is engineered to perform in the most demanding commercial environments. To do so, requires that it has performance values that are greater than the current standards set by the Association of Contract Textiles (ACT) for regular commercial applications. Sta-Kleen PC also features stain resistant that is achieved through chemical cross-linking -- not a topical treatment. Dry stains such as ballpoint pen can be wiped away with a cloth. Wet stains, including ketchup, lotion and juices, can be cleaned using a sponge, mild soap and water. Sta-Kleen PC is also resistant to the transfer of most blue jean dyes. The combination of the polycarbonate resins and Sta-Kleen stain resistance means Sta-Kleen PC can withstand the harsh chemical disinfectants used in commercial environments such as hospitals, nursing homes, and schools.
Sta-Kleen PC contains no lead or heavy metals. It is phthalate and formaldehyde free. It does not contain anti-microbial additives, chemical flame retardants, persistent organic pollutants, or toxic by-products. Sta-Kleen PC is REACH and RoHS compliant, and is eligible for LEED credits for Healthcare MR Credit 5 and LEED v4 for Commercial Interiors. It has been accepted into the Healthier Hospitals Initiative for Safer Chemicals.
