Beacon Navy - who can resist the romance and intrigue of lighthouses - especially when they are made in a woven tapestry upholstery fabric in Navy Blue, Oyster Grey, Off White, Russet Red, Black, Pale Celery and Sand. This elegant pattern shows four different lighthouse designs with the tallest lighthouse measuring approximately ten inches. The overall pattern repeat measures 24.75 inches vertical by 30 inches horizontal. Note that we are showing this fabric to you as it unrolls off of the fabric roll. This is called a railroaded design that is woven this way to minimize seams when upholstering. Even more, Beacon passes abrasion testing with a heavy duty rating making this a great choice for everyday use. There is a stain and soil repellant applied as well. Beacon is suitable for libraries, hotels, vacation homes, restaurants, lounges and residential settings where high traffic is a consideration. Beacon is suitable not only for upholstery fabric, but also for cornice board fabric, throw pillow fabric, top of the bed applications, and as headboard fabric.

Railroaded fabrics are simply fabrics that have designs turned "sideways" on the roll. The process was developed to aid furniture manufacturers wishing to cut and sew covers on furniture without seams. Since most fabrics woven are approximately 54" wide, any furniture piece wider than 54" would require seaming two pieces of fabric together. Railroading solves this dilemma, now a cushion piece can be covered without seams no matter what the width. Railroaded fabric is very desirable by designers since they can be more creative. When using a railroaded product for drapery, be aware of the panel size in relation to the design.
